» Sir Harold Hillier Gardens 2008

The scree beds and dwarf conifer collection are amongst the oldest parts of the garden, which was started in 1953 by the late Sir Harold Hillier. Being such a peaceful and tranquil setting, it provides the perfect location for the swing seat, donated by Martin Young, for all our visitors to enjoy. Martin Young is a Westcountry master craftsman who is passionate about garden swing seats. Beautifully designed and completely unique, Martin’s seats provide the ideal location to relax and enjoy your natural surroundings. The seats are available in pine, Western red cedar and English oak and are custom made to order. All the wood is sourced from sustainable forests and there is no need to treat them - all seats are made with a 25-year life expectancy. Martin also accepts commissions to further personalise a client’s swing seat. Inscriptions to commemorate carvings of much-loved family pets are popular requests. View more of Martin’s work at www.sittingspiritually.co.uk or call Sitting Spiritually on 01297 443084 for more information.

» Sitting comfortably at Camphill Community Centre in Bristol
The picture below was taken at Camphill Community, Bristol. They needed generously sized chairs and these have 600mm wide seats to sit and to council the patients in a quiet corner. We supplied a swing seat to them earlier this year.
