Single Oak Rope Swing with frame in a long garden

The Finest Rope Swings in the UK

Made from high-quality kiln-dried oak for outstanding natural beauty and longevity—furnished with underside support battens for added sturdiness—this rope swing is built to last. If you’re looking for an extra dose of individual charm, you can also add a custom inscription to your swing; maybe a meaningful phrase, or the name of the recipient? The choice is yours!

Technical information

This swing is 75cm wide, 25cm deep and 5cm thick—that's 60cm between the ropes—so it's perfect for trees, beams or our custom-built Sitting Spiritually frames.

The man made hempex ropes are professionally spliced and prepared; all of which come ready with our no-knots fixing kit to make the process of hanging the swing a breeze!

The ropes themselves are 16mm thick, with a 5m drop on each side. This can be easily extended to 8m or 10m if needed. These ropes are reassuringly tough—with a breaking strain of 1951kgs on each side. Just make sure to measure accurately to allow enough rope to wrap around the bough twice. Otherwise, the path between you and a beautiful rope swing couldn't be easier!

Finding Your Perfect Rope Swing

Watch as Sitting Spiritually founder Martin Young guides you through the key things to consider when choosing a rope swing. The type of wood, rope length, how they're assembled and the different ways of personalising your rope swing all inform the decision making process.

What makes our swings the best

Our rope swings have the credibility of our established brand, so much so that we are the only swing makers Licensed by The RHS. The National Trust have also bought our products for their gardens, and believe us, their testing & safety procedures are extremely vigorous, so what greater endorsement could you ask for?

Where others have the ropes spliced around the rope swing, meaning the wood may be prone to split over time, our ropes, which are made by a long established marine rope maker, are threaded through the rope swing. Our rope swings have strengthening oak battens underneath them adding to their stability and each rope swing comes with our unique, simple, no knots hanging system as standard.

The corners and edges of our rope swings are gently rounded, meaning a little one (or adult) will never get a painfully sharp knock.

If you would like us to build a rope swing to your own measurements? No problem, just give us a call.

Thanks for the speedy dispatch of the swing. It was simple to put up. The children think it is fantastic and won't let me have a go! Regards"
