Montacute House is a late Elizabethan mansion with garden in Montacute, South Somerset. An example of English architecture during a period that was moving from the medieval Gothic to the Renaissance. Montacute House is amongst the very few Elizabethan houses in England to have retained its setting within a compartmented garden with each of the areas offering something special.
