Single Day Bed

Due to the handcrafted nature of our products the final footprint can vary slightly from seat to seat, measurements provided are for the largest expected dimensions. If you are intending to set a slab under each leg we suggest not doing so until you have taken delivery. 

Begin by configuring your seat online. Choose your collection, size and style, select your timber or painted finish, and add any details that make it distinctly yours. Our website allows you to shape the piece around your garden and the way you live.

Nothing is set in stone at this stage. Once your order is placed, our team will be in touch personally to confirm every detail - from placement and access to finishing touches. We then confirm the full specification before your commission moves into the workshop. As your day bed nears completion, we will send you a photograph from the workshop so you can see it being prepared ahead of delivery. This is a considered, unhurried process - crafted with care from first enquiry to final installation.

Delivery and optional assembly are confirmed separately, ensuring timings work for you. Accessories such as cushions, covers or additional touches can be selected later should you wish; many clients prefer to live with their seat first before choosing soft furnishings.

Given the scale and craftsmanship of our Swinging Day Bed, delivery and installation are typically carried out personally by the maker, Alex DeBono. This ensures the structure is assembled precisely as intended and positioned with care within your garden.

Prior to delivery, you will be contacted to confirm a suitable date and to discuss access in detail - from pathways and surfaces to final placement beneath a pergola or within a chosen garden room. On the day, the Day Bed is assembled on site, levelled and secured where required. Soft furnishings, roof elements and covers are fitted, and every detail is checked before completion.

As with all our pieces, we invite you to step in, sit back and gently sway - ensuring the balance and feel are exactly right. It is a considered installation, undertaken with the same calm precision as the making itself.

Our oak pergolas are crafted from fresh sawn green oak supplied by Hewins Timber, selected specifically for structural strength and long-term performance outdoors. Unlike the air-dried oak used for our swing seats, green oak is used in its freshly cut state, retaining a higher natural moisture content at the point of construction.

As the pergola settles in the garden, the timber begins to dry gradually from day one. This natural seasoning process allows the structure to tighten and strengthen over time, with joints drawing firm as the oak slowly cures in situ. Subtle surface checks and characterful movement are a normal and expected part of this process - visible signs of a natural material responding to its environment.
